The main things I DIY'd were moustaches for each guest ^_^
Now what do I mean by that you say??
Take a gander
My sisters and I had a weekend of making them, and they are quite easy!
I used the templates from Lisa Welge's blog here and made up my own for the lips.
What you need:
- Felt
- Scissors
- Pins
- Dowls (or kebab sticks)
- Hot glue gun
- Templates
- Optional - toothpicks
Ok cut out your paper templates and pin to 2 pieces of felt. Cut this out and put to the side.
Glue both pieces of felt together adding the stick to the side of the felt. Set aside to cool.
I used toothpicks on some also as the felt I got was a bit thin. Therefore I stuck a toothpick horizontally across the inside of one felt piece, then stuck it together with the stick as per usual.
Now enjoy the hilarity :)
I DIY'd the table names. I had extra cards from the invites so I used the back of them and hand wrote the names on it and added to the frames. Nice and easy! I also didn't want to do individual name cards as A. I didnt want to go to the hassle of who to sit next to who, and B. people move during the night, so meh, they can sort themselves out!
I also printed out a donation card instead of bonbonnaires for each table, so we donated to 2 charities for our families.
I drew up my own little map and included with the invites
I wanted it to be something cute and also for people to take on the day for info of where to be and when.
Finally I bought some singlets for my bridesmaids and myself and purchased some iron on transfers from Bridal Bling on Made It - check here
They turned out great and we had something cute to wear on the morning getting ready. I do note that if you want to do this also, make sure you get singlets/shirts with a stretchy neckline, as you will need to get the top over your hair & makeup without ruining it. Ours were perfect!
Nice and simple DIY's to add to the day, was also a bit of fun!
On each of our tables at the wedding we put 2 disposable cameras for the guests to take photos. We will have them developed soon so I cannot wait to see them!
All from me
