DIY Shoe Flowers

So I purchased a pair of pointy flats aaaaages ago with the intention of glamming them up, and I finally did! Yay!! It only took 6 months haha.

Anyhoo! You will need:

  • Pair of flats (or any shoe really)
  • Felt in the colour you want
  • Scissors
  • Paper
  • Hot Glue Gun
  • Needle & Thread
  • a pin
  • 2 big beads or buttons
Firstly draw on the paper a basic flower shape you would like on your shoes and cut this out. This is now your template.

Pin this to two layers of felt (as you will need two pieces to make a single flower) and cut 2 lots, therefore giving you four flowers.

Cut all four to separate each petal a bit more, but not too far down like this (see yellow)

Now take your needle and matching thread and run a few stitches together in a circle at the centre of a single flower.

Pull the threads tight causing the felt to bunch slightly and knot in place. Repeat with one other single flower.

This is the top of your flower ^_^

You will now have two bunched flowers and two flat flowers.

Flat flower with bunched one on top

Take the flat flower and arrange the bunched one on top but so the petals don't line up. Take your bead or button and stitch into place in the middle, sewing together both flower pieces.

Now all you need to do is hot glue gun this to the toe area of your shoes and you are all done (of course when you finish the other one ^_^)

Enjoy!

And Happy Easter! I may not post till Tuesday next week as we have a nice long weekend ^_^

Ciao!

  2. Pretty cute, lady. You reckon you could whip up some orange, felt LeChat shoe clips? They would look spesh. Then you would prob have to do a giveaway on them, and perhaps the winner would have to prove themselves as the biggest Le Chat fan out there. :D
