Perisher Snow Trip - Part 3

After an awesome day on the slopes Saturday I decided to have Sunday off and relax my extremely sore muscles, as I seem to have turned into an old person needing assistance with walking, sitting ... Pretty much everything :)

Robbie and I went exploring and went for a drive to the Wildbrumby Schnapps brewery!

We got all excited and drove in only to be told that they dont brew anything this time of year and this was the only machine.

We were asked if we wanted a tour of it, but seeing as we already spent 10 seconds walking around it passed on that extra opportunity. We did get to taste the schnapps though, awesome! The butterscotch one was so smooth and I could see myself drizzling it over pancakes and ice-cream :) and the peach yummy also. They had other flavors of sour apple, pear, sweet apple, peppermint and Devils Tongue (chilli). Totally didn't try that one, as I like my tongue with tastebuds that have not been burnt to a crisp

Afterwards we headed to town to look through the shops. Seeing as I am too poor to shop I browsed, and then got depressed, then excited to find cute stuff to take pics of.

Ok I'm not a fan of children, but think their clothes are freaking adorable. Could you say no to these:

Frog Beanie

Bee Mittens
And you all know how I feel about mittens *squeal*
Once we met up with the fiancé and Robbie's wifey we started the 5 hour trek home, stopping along the way at the Christmas Barn in Bredbo

$135 for a bookend!! *gasp*

Seriously looked like Santa had exploded over everything, this place was HUGE! Too much dam Christmas cheer for me in the end and way too early

Anyhoo, that was our trip nicely packaged into 3 days of awesomeness. Hope you enjoyed my lovelies ^_^

Perisher Snow Trip - Part 2

You know you are on holiday, when you get woken up at 7am when someone has a shower and you can hear it through the paper thin walls. Welcome to day 2 :)

So pretty much crashed out after the first day on the mountain, and was umming and ahhing about going back the second day. The only thing that prompted me was the fact that I would be feeling even sorer on Sunday haha.

A nice healthy breaky to start off then gear up and head to the snowy fun. And it was.

I had the best day on the snow. We were there from about 10am to about 3pm and I actually lasted (may have whinged the last few hours but I was there). I felt good to board with everyone and we went down a few runs, and one in particular called Pretty Valley had a little café/shack. Stopped here for a lunch snack – awesome hot chocolate and cheese dogs yeah baby!

  Yes...yes it was

Sat around in the nice warm weather – totally should of sun baked hehe.

Then we were off again, with snow ball fights all around. I am proud to say that I hit the fiancé in the head a couple of times with my snow balls AND didn’t stack it at the same time. Takes skill.

I also found out that I need to be on the left hand side of the chair lift, as I have no control over what direction my board takes me (generally to the left). I took out so many people ^_^ and generally had to scoot out of the way of incoming boarders/skiers. Another stack I did was hitting a little mound…I saw it coming and was all screamy, stacked it only to look back and see that the mound was not some monstrous 2 metre high jump…but about 2cm tall…*ahem* excuse me while I dust myself off and pick up my humiliation.

Unfortunately at the end of the day I twisted my knee, but was glad to be finishing up as soooo tired. We headed back on the ski tube, but not before getting the best mini donuts in the world! Nice and hot just made :)

Perisher Snow Trip - Part 1

Am soooo tired from our snow weekend, will spread it out over a few posts as I have so much to tell you.

Thursday night we were packing and getting everything in order, had planned to get to bed by 9ish, but totally failed and ended up in bed by 11 pm >_< which meant we only had abt 4-5 hours sleep before waking at 3.30am to get going, I almost smothered the fiance when he tried to wake me up, but that's another story.

Our drive to Jindabyne takes about 5-6 hours depending on how speedy you are :) so we got there about 9am and headed straight to the snow (weren't able to check in till 4pm)

Got changed into our gear grabbed our boards and headed in. This involved jumping on the ski tube which takes you through the mountain to Blue Cow.

I hadn't been snow boarding in about 5 years, so was expecting pain and injury :) my mate Adam totally helped me with the basics so I didn't end up a human snowball (YAY!) then I also had a one on one lesson with an instructor. Best money I spent, I was able to actually control myself a little more without face planting it. But I did stack it majorly on my butt, oh my poor butt. It still hurts *cry*

After the lesson I was done, so headed back on the tube to the terminal to wait for the others.

Checked in to our accommodation which was awesome and cheap! Was tempted to get an icepack for my butt, instead settled for a cushion. Seriously, someone needs to invent an airbag for your butt, cos I'd buy it!

Here are pics of our first day

Hehe, random dudes dressed up as a kangaroo and wombat. Kinda blurry tho

So not many pics of day one, but more to come tomorrow!

Ice Ice Baby

So, heading to the snow this weekend where I hope to avoid injury and embarrassment....hmmm, yep totally going to by fun!

I have only been 2 other times to the snow and both I ended up injured and feeling quite goofy. Most of the time I tend to slide down the mountain on my butt or have to scoot out of the way of chairlifts/T bars/other skiers etc and mostly I'm crawling as I have 0 skill on the snow, it must hate me.

Pics from our 2008 snow trip (I'm end right):

So the fiance and I are leaving at nice and early tomorrow morning at 4am (GAH!) to drive the 5-6 hrs to Jindabyne where we'll meet up with friends at a lodge. Therefore I won't post again till Sunday, where I will be able to regale you with tales of becoming a human snowball mastering the snowboard! Thinking positive as it can't really be worse than last time right? Right?!? ..... eeep

Hmm...must remember to pack a big book and plenty of tv shows on my iphone.

Anyhoo, do you have any funny stories of snow adventures? Or are you a complete snow bunny that has crazy skills and would be the kind of person I attempt to dodge whilst also trying not to collide with trees?

And if you happen to be at the snow also this weekend (Thredbo/Perisher) I will see you at the pub! I'll be there celebrating after I spend quality time on the snow mastering my skills....so about 9.30am.

Ciao Lovelies

ps, don't eat yellow snow....just saying

Family Night Out

Caught up with the family and my sisters in-laws at a little Italian restaurant in Summer Hill called Da Vincis. Was so yummy! And treat to see everyone.

Total dessert envy right there

I had time to kill before dinner, so straight after work I walked down to Market City to look for some goodies (Vee I got you something!)

Here are some snaps I took on my way:

Leopard print heels!!! Blurry pic though

totally random owl beanie but totally wanted it

I also spoilt myself with a little gift from Dangerfield

Hope you lovelies are enjoying your week :)

Celebrity Weddings

Yep I'm going there. I totally watch Keeping up with the Kardashians (only for the intelligent conversation of course gwaahaha) so am therefore extremely curious about Kim's wedding. Mainly the fashion, seeing as she had 3 Vera Wang dresses to choose from (at a cheap $20,000 each mind you *ahem* 90% of my budget goneski).

This is all the coverage / pictures out there I could find

I actually really like the headpiece she is wearing - obviously giagantic diamonds....I think I would probably be able to afford some sequins haha.

I do like how her mum is trying to get in on the action with a crazy dress

And we all know she will be making bazillions out of selling the story/tv rights.

But that brings to mind other celebrity weddings and the few I have liked:

Gwen Stefani's dress was stunning, and I especially love the two tone dress

Lily Allen - she is so cute, and it looks like she is wearing ear muffs hehe. Nice and lacey dress

Also Portia de Rossi in this cute ballerina-esque dress, adorable there with Ellen.

Then there is the other end of the scale, with some downright wtf were they thinking ouftits

Jordan, I think in this instance pictures say a thousand words...and most of the time it is yelling to stop.

And anyone that has seen the Sex & the City.....some poor bird had to die for that headpiece.

I actually didn't realise that SJP actually wore a black wedding dress at her wedding to Matthew Broderick. I think that's pretty gutsy, and something I would never do. Unfortunately now she regrets her choice.

Any celebrities you think take the cake (in good or bad)?
