Wollongong Wedding Venues - the hunt was on!

Afternoon my lovelies! Today the fiance and I set off at 8am to head down to Wollongong as we were booked in to look at 2 venues.

The weather was absolutely miserable as we drove there and also cold! But we stopped near the end at this lookout and snapped some pics.

Then we drove into Wollongong out near the lighthouse and walked to our first venue - The Harbourfront Function centre. I was really looking forward to this place as it was right on the water and had a lovely view, also it catered for our small numbers.

When we had a look at the room it was so tiny! A little too tiny as everyone would feel squished in.
This was $85 per person, and was all inclusive.

After this we headed up the road and had a look at the City Beach function rooms. O M G these were sooo much better. They did only have the 2 rooms, and the beauty of it they were actually both set up for weddings! Perfect! The room we wanted was great, nice tall ceilings and plenty of room, it also had a huge private balcony :) Here are some pics of inside.

This is about $90 per person, but we need to negotiate the minimum numbers with the venue as we will not have as many as they would like.

We are definitely going to book this one in once we finalise cost! YAHOO!!!

The area is really lovely also, can imagine getting our wedding photos on the beach and at the lighthouse :)

Now I need to source everything else in Wollongong, does anyone have any recommendations??

Here are some pics of us in the area, started to turn into an awesome day too!

Good end to a hectic week and the Royal Wedding Blah!

Ok this short week was crazy! It was extremely difficult to squish 5 days of work into 3 >.< very painful. Therefore I was still finalising work at 5.30 this arvo. But all done and I can now enjoy Mexican with my friends tonight along with a chilled bottle of wine. Yes bottle, none of this I'll have a small glass! Gimmie a bottle and a long straw! haha.

So what does everyone have planned for the weekend?

Me I am finally going to look at the wedding venues in Wollongong, YAY! Totally getting excited :) I will also be going to see my gf's wedding on Sunday, just the ceremony mind you, but still can't wait. I've heard all about it at work so will finally see how it all runs. She is going to look soooo pretty, and am crossing my fingers it doesn't rain!

Ok, I have to bring this up...the Royal Wedding. I'm sorry but this is a whole heap of blah to me. The only thing I am interested in is the dress...and if it ends up looking like mine I will kill her :P But in all honesty, I cannot believe that this wedding is taking up so much news...it's a wedding people! I am pretty sure there are people starving all over the world, but no! I need to now what type of underwear Kate will be wearing, or what brand of lipgloss she will use! So many others have them all the time and no-one pays heaps of attention! Blergh!!

Alrighty, I've finished my vent.

Now over to you faithful followers, what is your take on this all?? What are you doing to escape the insanity that is the Royal Wedding?

Till tomorrow
xx

I love short weeks!

Isn't today awesome! What feels like a Tuesday is actually a Thursday *dances* woohoo! Got to love working a short week :)

Today was busy for me, I didn't even get to have lunch, unless you count the handful of goji berries (may have been chocolate coated) a savoury biscuit and a cookie. So am looking forward to dinner at home tonight, nice and simple - chicken with rice and veges! Bring it!

Just a short post from me, as I already posted my Polly Dolly this morning - I was way too excited to wait this this arvo :)

I did get to wear my new military jacket I got from K yesterday, it was nice and warm and so very cute.

I need to keep an eye out for some new comfy (and cheap) boots as the ones I wore today (and wear most days its cold) have a nice big hole in the heel. Really sucks when it is raining on the way to and from work...which has been the last couple of weeks! Luckily no soggy feet yet, but I walk on tippy toes which probably looks weird haha.

*yawn* see you lovelies!

Polly Dolly Challenge

It's that time again! Another Polly Dolly Challenge from the lovely Danimezza

I seriously love doing these as it allows me to dress up :) but without having to purchase the extremely expensive items!!

This week its what you would wear to the royal wedding as a guest. I kept it classy, but still with a bit of funk.

I know the bride is the one that stands out, but it still doesn't make you want to blend in with all the other guests. Hence why I went with this gorgeous orange cocktail dress. Paired with an awesome clutch and bling earrings you can't really go wrong. Everything else would be kept simple as you don't want to go over the top with this.

What do you think??

If you aren't already participating with the Polly Dolly Challenge, you should! It's heaps of fun :)

Ciao Lovelies.

Weekend images

Just a few pics from the long weekend we had...proof that it was actually sunny at one point!

I heart my japanese thongs aka my indoor thongs or within 5 meters of the house thongs :)

What are friends for?

Out with the girls tonight for a lovely dinner in the city. From work we went to The Rocks and had a wander up George St. Whilst waiting for K, V and I stopped into The Orient for a cool drink. It's funny, I work for the same company as V and she is only 1 floor away, but I very rarely see her.

So we had some yummy Italian followed by ice-cream from Copenhagen yum!

Yes this is lasagna and it was yummy!

V's Aussie pizza with an egg mixed in

K also got me the most awesome birthday gift! A new bag and the cutesy military jacket!! Am totally wearing this tomorrow!!

I definitely miss catching up with my girlfriends, and need to do this more often.

The last couple of days I have also been getting a little weddingy, have been working on my budget and am hoping I can stick to it. One thing that quite a number of people are saying is that I should get a videographer as well as a photographer. In my head I'm like, nah waste of money, but oh my gosh I have seen the best videos online that almost had me in tears or laughing. It captures the moment and also the emotion. The company that I am so hooked on is Paper Cranes in Sydney. Even just watching their intro is awesome, it's like a movie! Except they are a gazillion dollars! Well maybe only $6000 but that is a gazillion for someone who is saving!

Did you have a vidoeographer at your wedding? Do you recommend getting one also?

Some good news as well...I have booked in to see a dressmaker in the hopes she can make my dream dress for less than the designer. Will be seeing her on the 7th, yay!

Ok that's all from me, I am full and need to go digest.

Goodnight my lovelies
